Songwriting Workshop for Year 9. 10/05/08.

Year 9's are quite a handful, as any secondary teacher will tell you, but over 2 weeks a class of students at Norwood Secondary College showed great enthusiasm and wrote and performed some very fine work. The series culminated with a live recording session.

I was pleased to host a workshop for 2nd year English students, majoring in poetry and who wished to learn the 'hidden art' of transforming their prose into song.

Whitehorse Music Contemporary Ensemble In Concert. 06/07.

The Whitehorse Music Contemporary Ensemble kicked *?&! on Sunday 1st July at the twice annual Whitehorse Music School Concert. The below photo is evidence of this, and no it hasn't been altered in photo shop, this is what really happened. The guys all rocked, Jon Tiong rock steady on rhythm guitar, Doug Hassack on thumpin bass, Adam D'Rosario spicing up the tune from start to finish with some smooth lead and we were lucky to be joined by Scott Symes drum teacher extraordinaire.

The Contemporary Ensemble is open to anyone interested in playing contemporary music in a group. Students bring all the great skills they develop in their music lessons to this ensemble where we'll use them to improvise, compose and make music as a group. This ensemble is suited to students young and young-at-heart, of all abilities, and playing any instrument. The Contemporary Ensemble is directed by Jeremy P. Martin
